A Word in Due Season

by Victoria Thornton   -   FindingGodsWill.com

Stephany has longed to see her marriage come to fruition. She has been seeking God in this area for quite some time now. While she doesn't understand all the intricacies of her situation, she's determined to have God's chosen mate.

There aren't a lot of people she can talk about this with because they simply will tell her to quit. She wants to believe God but doesn't think she can hold out for much longer if nothing changes. She is distraught and anxious yet she knows being anxious is akin to fear, but she can't help it.

What does she do? Where does she turn?

She turns to the only One who knows her and designed a plan for her life. She turns to the One who knows her past, present and future and knows not only the problem but the solution.

Sometimes that's easier said than done, if all you have a heart full of doubts and a lack of wisdom in tow. But this is the best route take.

I know sometimes it can be frustrating that you can pray and seek God and heaven feels like it's been shut off to you. Or, after you have confessed for years, yet nothing has gotten better.

But getting alone with God is the best solution. It's okay to get information from others who have been where you are going. The Bible even tell us in Ephesians 4:11-12 that He gave us pastors and teachers, etc. for the perfecting of the saints. But ultimately the answer to your particular situation is in the heart of God.

When I began believing for my mate, two of my best friends joined me. We were the three musketeers doing everything together. But when they received their mates much quicker than I did and I was left feeling discouraged.

While it was encouraging me to see that God manifested their prayer, the downside was He had not manifested mine.

This left me with many questions and inquiries. Some included, “why didn't I receive my mate as quickly as they did?' And, “what was wrong with me that I suffered a delay?" These questions and many more plagued my mind as I wondered where was my mate.

Since my friends had received theirs so quickly, I couldn't discuss it with them. I had nowhere to turn except the Word and prayer.

As I began to seek God about my situation, it was then I realized as I struggled to understand what was going on, even while I worked and went about my life, God was there.

Sure, I brought it to Him during my prayer time but I soon realized that because it was so heavily on my heart that God began speaking to me about it all the time. All I had to do was put on my listening ears and hear.

For instance when I attended church, I recall a few times a prophesy was given that was speaking directly to my situation. When I had my devotional time, reading and studying the bible, God would quicken certain scripture to me that was a direct response to what I had been dealing with.

There were lots of times I became discouraged, and again God through His Word encouraged me. As I learned about all the ways God speaks, God began utilizing those ways to talk to me about my situation. In God-inspired dreams, He began to teach me and show me areas where I harbored doubt.

After a while, it became exciting being curious what God would say next. When I began, I was doing most of the inquiring but as time progressed, God took the lead. From someone who had no one to talk to, to someone hearing the voice of God; it became exciting!

The Word says in Proverbs 15:23, …'A Word Spoken In Due Season, How Good Is It!'

It was good because the answers and wisdom I received were tailor made for me.

That's why one Word from the mouth of the Lord is meat to the soul. His Word has a way of satisfying you when He speaks to you about something that's been on your heart. I am amazed at times His simple one-word answers He gave resolved my issue quickly.

What is so exciting about being a new testament believer is that we have access to the Father and He talks to us. In fact, that was one of his goals in sending Christ that He could now reside in His people.

II Corinthians 6:16 declares, And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.

God's presence and involvement are priceless when you are faced with something you don't quite understand. If you are faced with questions such as, “is he or she my mate or do I look for another?” “Am I in faith or not in faith?” God has your answer.

God wants to speak to you all the time. When we want to give up, He can speak a Word to encouragement to us. When we feel defeated, God wants to speak a Word to uplift us and put us over. When the enemy is about to attack us, God can show us things to come.
In fact one of the times God offers a Word on encouragement is when you have travel a path for so long and you don't see any changes. God does speak to you at times to help you continue on. As you believe for your mate and after standing for a time you can grow weary. If you let Him, God can encourage you.

In fact there are special times to watch for God to speak if you are in tuned with Him. A few include:

After much prayer. You are never in a one-sided conversation. As you pour yourself out to God, expect Him to speak back to you.

During Your Devotional Time. God likes to quicken scripture to us as we study his Word. Many times the Word He quickens often is an answer to what we've been struggling over.

When we begin something New. When God has spoken about a way you should go, after you begin your path, God will speak to confirm it.

When you are struggling with something. God desires to help his people.

The bible says, in I Corinthians 10:13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

You have access to a treasure trove of revelation available to you right in the middle of your mid-section, in your spirit man, where God resides wanting to be a Father unto you.

You might be in confusion right now because things aren't working out as you desired, but you have the Holy spirit, the third-person of the Godhead, right there with you.

The bible says in 1 John 4:4, Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is He that is in you, than he that is in the world.

God knows how to overcome the difficult situation you found yourself in so allow Him to be there for you. †
