Faith in Review - Lesson 1

Hebrews 11:3 Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.
When believing God for anything, the mechanics of faith works the same in most areas. One area where it works the same is when you are believing God for the person He chose for you.

To receive this person, you will need to be proficient in how faith works and have the faith of God in your heart. Nothing else will do. Human faith (i.e. believing only in what you see) will not work. There must be the God-kind of faith that has been firmly implanted in your heart to bring it to pass. And according to the Word, you do not need a lot of faith. Jesus said you only need a mustard seed size of faith for it to work.

However, one main proponent of the God-kind of faith that causes many people to stumble is understanding how to be unmoved by circumstances.

Learning to not go by circumstances is one of the hardest struggle believers face.  And since you can’t go by circumstances, what do you go by? According to the Word, you look at the unseen.

You look at what God has spoken. You look at His Word.
It’s looking in the face of circumstances and disallowing them to continue. It’s believing you have received your mate even though you have to attend the office party alone.

It’s not being moved as you look at all your married friends knowing that even though your mate may not be by your side, at the present moment, God’s Word is still true. It can be a difficult task to do but to overcome and change your circumstances you'll have to train yourselves to do it.

2Corinthians 4:18 While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.

Learning to be unmoved by circumstances does not mean you ignore them. It only means you do not give up if things have not yet aligned themselves with the Word of God.  It never means you ignore what we see.

Therefore, if you are faced with circumstances that do not line up with what God has given, it simply means you need to apply more pressure on the Word. It means you need to continue to speak the Word over your situation forcing it to change. It means you do not stand idly by without using your authority to change the things that God has given you authority to change. †
