Possessing God's Promise

  • by Victoria Thornton

  • It may seem impossible. in your natural strength. It may even be impossible.  But the Bible says, with God nothing shall be impossible to him that believes. Notice it didn't say, with God nothing shall be impossible to him that is smart enough, rich enough, or young enough.

The only thing God needs to perform the impossible in your life is your belief.

When Moses and the children of Israel faced the red sea, they all believed they were going to die.  They faced an impossible situation.  The Egyptian army was behind them and the Red Sea was before them.  In their own strength, they lost hope because there was nothing they could do to change it.

But thank God, they had a man of God (Moses) who could hear the voice of God.  Thank God, they had someone that had a relationship with Him. When Moses heard the people crying and complaining he tried to still them.  He tried encouraging them to believe in God.  Nothing worked, until finally God spoke up.

Now from God's perspective, He didn't seem happy with the children of Israel at that moment.  He had performed many miracles in their midst and seemed put off with Moses crying out to him about this situation.

God spoke back to Moses in Exodus 14:15 saying, ‘why are you crying out to me?’ Even though it seemed that the Lord wasn't happy with them, He still supplied the answer.  In verse 17, He instructed Moses in what to do.

Now while this impossible situation seemed detrimental to the Israelites, God saw it as a means to get honor.  It was a chance to show God's strength, not only to the Egyptians, but to all those who would hear about it.

You may be sad and depressed over what looks like an impossible situation in your life but God sees it as an opportunity to show Himself.  As you believe God for your mate or the return of a wayward mate, know with God, you can get the victory.

The bible says in I Corinthians 10:13, ‘There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it’.

And here's something you may not know.  Along with the fact that God will get glory as you overcome your situation, know that your success at conquering this situation with God will lead to promotion.

As you depend on God, know that He is at work to help you through your problem and is at-hand to give you wisdom to resolve it. So don't get into fear, doubt and despair, the greater One lives in you and is greater than anyone and anything in this world.

Therefore, you can have confidence and boldness knowing you are not alone. You are not without help. It may seem impossible but to make the impossible, possible, all you need is to believe His Word. †
