Move While the Door of Opportunity is OPEN

  • by Victoria Thornton
  • Oftentimes when you start believing God for your mate or for the return of a wayward mate and your faith is working well; you may begin to see little signs that God is working in your behalf.
God may begin sending different teachings and lessons across your path relating to marriage. He may begin giving dreams, visions, and prophecies regarding your mate or He may begin preparing and getting you ready to receive him or her.

As He does this, make sure to remain in step with Him until the manifestation is complete. I have found that once you and God have come into agreement that it's time to receive your mate, God puts it on his agenda, so to speak, and commits Himself to working with you to bring it to pass.

Once God puts it on His agenda, He won't move off of it or change His mind. Once He commits to doing this for you, He intends for you to have it. But the responsibility of receiving it i.e. getting your prayer manifested lies with you.
You are the only person who can limit the power of God from working in your life once God has committed Himself to doing it. Therefore if you are to see your answer to prayer come to pass, it's imperative that you make it your number one priority to stay in tune with God. It’s imperative that you make God's timetable a priority in your life, otherwise you might miss the timing of God and forfeit the door of opportunity He intends to provide.

God’s timetable must be a priority in your life because at the point you release your faith, God will begin arranging favorable circumstances for you to meet. If your mate lives out of state, God may have one of you move to be near the other. If you have issues in your life that need to be removed, God will work with you to remove them. As God begins to make things ready, you must be diligent to stay in line with Him to bring it to pass.

Working with God is sort of like a theatrical performance or play. It's God’s responsibility to create the production, set design, characters and timing. It’s His responsibility to have the characters in place and work out the role He wants all involved to play. Being that you are one of the main characters in His production, it is imperative that you become acutely aware of when you are to enter; at what stage door you are to enter through; and at what time, doing exactly what the Lord wants you to do.

If you arrive too early, you can miss the timing of God. If you arrive too late, you can miss the timing of God. If you do anything other than what God and His angels have set up for you to do, you could miss His timing entirely. Your being off course can cause a delay in the manifestation of your mate.

I am not saying you are done; that God can't or won't provide you with the person He chose for you, I am saying you could miss the opportunity to meet him or her at that particular point in time. God can and will work out other opportunities but it will require faith. Therefore to avoid having to extend your manifestation further out into the future, be quick to obey what God is telling you to do.

If God is telling you to pray, then make time to pray. If God is telling you to turn off the television and spend more time in the Word, then spend more time in the Word. If God is telling you to get out of a certain relationship, then get out of that relationship. Whatever God is telling you to do, do it because God knows what it will take for you to manifest your answer to prayer.

God's objective is to have you in the place you need to be to bring your mate into your life. Therefore, obey Him at all costs. Because if you are lax in obeying what God wants you to do, that act of disobedience could put off the manifestation of your mate for months or years.

For example, as the time arrived to meet my mate, one day God specifically told me to stand in a certain place. I knew that this was the path my mate usually walked so I knew what God wanted to do. But letting fear overtake me, I didn't do it. And with that one act of disobedience I put off the manifestation of meeting my mate. I missed out on my opportunity because my mate moved away and that was the last time he would take that particular route.

Because I didn’t do what God instructed, I was really concerned that I had destroyed my chance of being with the person God chose for me. I had to repent, pray and release my faith again for God to work out another opportunity for us to meet. This time it was harder because I had to build my faith up to believe that even though we were now miles away; had not formally met with no form of communication that God could still bring us together.

The loss and regret I felt after missing my first chance of meeting my mate was overwhelming. God worked it out and we eventually met but I put off the answer to my prayer because I was too afraid to do what God wanted me to do.

So use my story as a cautionary tale to stay on God's timetable to see the manifestation of your prayer sooner rather than later.

Make up your mind to stay on God's course and in His timing by resolving to do the following:

    Resolve to...
-Make obedience your number one priority. Decide now that you will obey no matter what. Make up your mind that you will do whatever God tells you to do; whenever God tells you to do it; no matter how hard or fearful it may appear.

-Decide that you will keep your eyes on the Father and you will not allow the things of the world to draw you away. Make the decision that nothing will keep you from receiving your mate; that you will not let a stressful job, the unbelief of others or any other thing steal your faith.

-Resolve to continually put the Word first. Decide now that you will refuse to doubt.

Once you have resolved to stay on course and in God's timing, you will need to protect your faith in order to see it come to pass.

Here are a few tips to help you stay in faith and receive the gift of marriage God intends for you to have.

    1. Do not let your faith for your mate grow cold by becoming distracted or too busy to spend time with God.

    a. Set aside a time daily to spend with God regarding your mate.
    b. Have the scriptures you are standing on continually before your eyes.
    c. Whenever you have a free moment, make your confession before God as many times a day as you can. If you work, learn the art of praying under your breath.

I Isa 26:3 Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.

    2. Never lose hope. There are times when it can appear as if nothing is happening. If you ever feel this way, you may become susceptible to a spirit of despair and loss of hope. If you allow these negative emotions to be implanted in your heart, it will stop the flow of faith in its tracks.

Gal 6:9 And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.

    3. Make every effort to guard your heart. Since faith resides in the heart, make a concerted effort to protect it. The bible says, to guard your heart with all diligence for out of it flows the issues of life.

    4. Protect your anointing. As you meditate on the Word, spending time in prayer and worship, you should begin to sense the anointing growing stronger.

The anointing must be protected for the following reasons:
a.) Having the power of God flow through your words and deeds destroys whatever yoke of bondage that could be standing between you and your mate.

Isa 10:27 And it shall come to pass in that day, that his burden shall be taken away from off thy shoulder, and his yoke from off thy neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing.

b.) The amount of power you have operating in your spirit man is the amount of power that will be released to change your circumstances.
Eph 3:20, Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us.

So make a commitment to God today to stay in tuned with Him as you believe for your mate. God will honor that prayer and will work with you to bring it to pass.

And, as you continue to stay in step with God, He will align the perfect, most natural supernatural circumstances for you to meet. God will align your steps in such a way that you will be amazed at how easy it will seem --all the while unaware of what great work that was done behind the scenes to bring it to pass.

So commit your ways to God and let your life be a testimony to the good and perfect gift of marriage He wants to give you.

Psa 37:5 Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass. †
